Inform Plus: The Information Forum for Individuals with Internet Problems
What is Inform Plus?
The Inform Plus programme, run by the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, aims to offer support, advice, and information for those who have been arrested, cautioned or convicted in connection with indecent images of children. The programme offers a 'safe' group environment in which those who have been arrested for child pornography related offences can explore their behaviour and seek practical advice in order to avoid future re-offending.
Groups usually consist of around 6-8 men with 2-3 facilitators from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.
What does Inform Plus cover?
Inform Plus programme, group members will have the opportunity to explore issues including the following:
- Factual information about pornography and the Internet in general, with a particular focus on child pornography
- The process and effects of viewing / collecting indecent images of children online
- The impact of this type of behaviour on both the self and others
- The process and effects of Internet sexual exploitation, and the abuse of children
- Planning and implementing effective self-management strategies for the future in order to avoid re-offending.
How long is the course and how much does it cost?
The course will run over 10 weeks with each session lasting 2½ hours. Sessions are currently run in the evening. The cost to participants is £700. If this is beyond your means, please let us know and we will try to explore top-up funding from another source.
Where are the courses run?
At present the Inform Plus course is run in the South East and Avon and Somerset areas. For further information about the location of these courses or whether there may be plans for a course in your area please contact us on the number below.
Don’t worry….
- Group members will not have to reveal their full identity to other participants within the sessions.
- The information you share will remain confidential unless it raises concerns about a child at risk, you disclose previously unreported offences, or it has been agreed in advance to share information with other agencies about your progress.
We also provide a programme for partners, friends and family of those arrested, cautioned or convicted for child pornography related offences. For more details, please refer to the Inform programme below.

Inform: The Information Forum for Families with Internet Problems
What is Inform?
Inform is an educative course designed to offer information and support to the partners, relatives and close friends of people who have been charged in relation to child pornography accessed via the Internet. Inform aims to provide a ‘safe place’ to which people can bring their issues, problems and questions and discuss them in an understanding and supportive environment. Each Inform group typically has 4-6 members.
What does Inform cover?
- Facts and myths about child pornography on the Internet
- The processes that can lead to people viewing child pornography or offending over the Internet
- The impact and implications of Internet offending for families
- The process and effects of Internet sexual exploitation, and the abuse of children
- Considering and managing the future: risk management and ongoing relationship issues
How long is the course?
The Lucy Faithfull Foundation currently runs Inform courses in Surrey and the Bristol area. The course consists of five weekly sessions, each lasting two
hours. Courses take place in the evening, usually between 6.15 and 8.15 p.m.
How much does Inform cost?
The cost to participants is £150 payable in advance. If this is beyond your means, we will try to explore ‘top-up’ funding from another source.
Who runs Inform?
Course facilitators are all staff of the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, who are trained and experienced in working with family members or close friends of those who have been charged in relation to child pornography offences via the Internet. Each Inform group has two facilitators, who are available for ongoing support via the Stop it Now! freephone Helpline (0808 1000 900).

- The information you share will remain confidential unless it raises concerns about a child at risk.
- Wherever possible we are keen to offer a Programme to your family member or friend to help them to understand their problematic Internet behaviour and learn how to manage it in the future.
- The sessions will provide a ‘safe’ forum for you to ask your own questions and, if you wish, explore issues relating to your own situation.
