Creating safer places

Help for schools

We support schools and education staff to prevent and respond to harmful sexual behaviour. This includes behaviour that can harm either the young person themselves or another person.

Faith communities

Child sexual abuse can happen within religious and faith organisations. Faith communities play a vital role in making sure that the environment and those within it are as safe as possible for children.

LGBTQ+

Children and young people from the LGBTQ+ community are more likely to suffer sexual abuse than the heterosexual and cisgender community. This can lead to risky behaviours in adolescents or adults.

Sports organisations

Sports clubs and organisations play a vital role in making sure that the environment, and those within it, are as safe as possible for children. We need to ensure that steps are taken to prevent child sexual abuse before it happens.

To learn about creating safe environments for children, read our Faithfull paper on Creating safer environments for children and young people: situational prevention of child sexual abuse.
