Join us for the first in a series of free webinars, where Dr Sarah Wefers explores the complex topic of assessing and treating paedophilic disorder. This session begins by examining the concept of ‘deviant sexual interests’—how they are defined, their prevalence in the general population, and the point at which they become clinically significant.
Dr Wefers then delves into the distinctions between paedophilia and hebephilia, offering a clear definition of paedophilic disorder and discussing the reasons for assessment. An overview is provided for a range of assessment tools which support clinical decision-making.
The second half of the webinar focuses on treatment, including how to align therapeutic goals between clients and professionals. Dr Wefers provides an overview of available interventions and highlights key resources. Please note that one resource mentioned—the Aurora Project—has closed since the recording of this webinar.
