Join us for a thought-provoking webinar exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and child sexual abuse. Katy begins by outlining LFF’s work with individuals, families, professionals, and communities, and highlights key resources such as the Stop It Now helpline and Shore.

The session then moves into an accessible overview of generative AI, focusing on text-to-image models and their rapid development. Katy explains how these technologies work, their potential for misuse, and the growing concerns around AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Using real-world examples and recent data, the webinar explores:

  • The creation and distribution of AI-generated CSAM
  • Legal challenges and emerging UK legislation
  • The impact on victims, including revictimisation
  • Offending behaviour and pathways, including among young people

Katy also discusses the implications for safeguarding practice, offering guidance on how professionals can support both adults and young people who may be at risk of engaging with AI CSAM. The session concludes with practical strategies and key takeaways, reinforcing the message that real children are harmed when their images are used or manipulated—even by AI.
