Safer Recruitment in education settings

This safer recruitment course gives participants the information and understanding they need to recruit safely and comply with relevant statutory guidance. It is suitable for head teachers, safeguarding staff, school governors and all others in the education sector who are involved in staff selection.

Safer recruitment - train the trainer workshop

10 and 11 October 2022 (Worcestershire, WR9 0BU)

This course is designed for people who want to become safer recruitment trainers. By the end of the course, you will be able to:

The cost of this event is £1,500 + VAT (per person). This includes course materials and registration to the Safer Recruitment Consortium to receive regular updates of materials which enable trainers to keep abreast of the occasionally complex changes in the law. Refreshments and a light lunch are provided for the Worcestershire course.

NOTE: Please do not book accommodation and travel until closer to the time for this course, when we can confirm that the course is going ahead.

The Safer Recruitment Consortium accreditation process requires that delegates are able to show experience in key areas before attending the course. It is expected that a delegate would have either a background in child protection, HR or school governance with some training delivery experience, or be an established trainer with experience in at least one of these key areas.

Inform Young People programme - training for delivery

We are offering training for UK-based organisations specialising in youth services to help them prevent technology-assisted harmful sexual behaviour amongst young people. 

The training will familiarise participants with our Inform Young People programme that is designed for adolescents in trouble with the police, their school or college for engaging in technology-assisted harmful sexual behaviour. The course will equip professionals to deliver the programme to young people they work with.

Participants will need to undertake three online workshops and an e-learning module to complete the training.

The e-learning module is designed to provide information regarding the Inform Young People programme. It provides:

Workshop one will provide professionals who already work with young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour (HSB), with a refresher into their pathways to the behaviour. It will also aim to increase professionals' understanding of the internet in the lives of young people.

Workshops two and three will focus on delivering the Inform Young People programme and includes exploring positive ways to engage with young people. It provides professionals with the knowledge and tools to deliver the programme. The objectives include:
