Tribute to Trustee, Dr Mike Harris

Published: 21/04/2026

It is with heavy hearts that we post this tribute to our Trustee, Dr Mike Harris, who passed away on Monday, 13 April.

Mike joined the Lucy Faithfull Foundation as a Trustee in 2006 and went on to serve as Chair from November 2018 until December 2023. Over many years, he gave generously of his time, wisdom and leadership, offering the Foundation steady guidance shaped by integrity, calmness and thoughtful judgement. His wise counsel, words of encouragement and quiet reassurance helped steer the charity through both challenges and moments of growth, always with the wellbeing of others at heart.

Mike brought to his role a rare combination of kindness, care and clarity. He was deeply supportive of colleagues and fellow trustees alike, generous with his insight and always willing to listen. Alongside his seriousness of purpose, he brought good humour, warmth and friendship, which enriched our work together and meant so much on a personal level to so many of us.

We know Mike’s involvement with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation meant a great deal to him. That feeling was entirely mutual. His contribution to the charity, and the way he made people feel supported, valued and understood, will leave a lasting legacy.

His impact beyond the Lucy Faithfull Foundation was also profound. Mike was a deeply respected clinician and a generous, committed contributor to charitable causes and the Nottinghamshire Jewish community. He gave so much of himself in thoughtful service to others.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Mike’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
