Watch our latest campaign film – The Knock

Published: 01/02/2018

The Knock is the latest, hard-hitting film from The Lucy Faithfull Foundation to show the serious consequences of looking at child sexual abuse images online.

The video features several men who are frightened of a sound that could be a “knock.” In the final section, one of the men receives a knock on the door from the police. He is subsequently arrested for looking at sexual images of children online. The video ends with a message signposting potential offenders to self-help resources online and the helpline.

During its creative development, the film was tested with focus groups of internet sex offenders. Since the video was launched and disseminated on social media, it has been viewed over 1 million times and is our highest performing film.

You can watch the video below:

“The Knock” is part of the organisation’s ongoing deterrence campaign, which aims to:

  • Clarify the law that states that viewing sexual images of anyone under 18 is a serious crime
  • Explaining the serious consequences for those who view sexual images of children
  • Directing people who view at such images to confidential and anonymous help to stop accessing these images
  • Highlighting the real harm caused to the children who appear in these images
